I had decided to give a try on improving my page speed to improve my search engine ranking and made a step by step progress to improve my blog page speed. In case you wonder what is page speed?
Page speed is often confused with “site speed,” which is actually the page speed for a sample of page views on a site. Page speed can be described in either “page load time” (the time it takes to fully display the content on a specific page) or “time to the first byte” (how long it takes for your browser to receive the first byte of information from the web server).
No matter how you measure it, a faster page speed is better. Many people have found that faster pages both rank and convert better.
Since it’s an important factor for page rank as well as user experience. It’s an important factor which is not should be ignored while you building your blog.
If you bought a premium WordPress theme which might be already be optimized for page speed.If you are using free themes you must have to tweak it to perform better in speed.
In both the cases, you can measure you page speed using google.
How to check page speed?
- Just visit https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/ to know about google page speed insight.
- You can check your website speed here using this tool .

Google will measure both your mobile and desktop performance and indicates the improvement. If you are in green zone, you are well and good. If you are in red, you are in deep trouble. The scores are out of 100 which makes it easier to understand where your blog stands.
